Double major in Accounting and Operations Management from Grand Valley State University. Master’s degree in Management, Strategy, and Leadership from Michigan State University. Certified Managerial Accountant, Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis, and have IMA Data Analytics & Visualization Fundamentals Certificate.
What is your area of specialty – how do you best help your clients?
Manufacturing. Have worked in the private sector up to this point in various capacities performing Financial Planning and Analysis for multi-million-dollar companies.
What are your top 5 strengths? What is your favorite strength?
Individualization, Discipline, Harmony, Input, Analytical. Individualization because it means I work to use other’s strengths to help solve problems.
How do you like to give back to the community?
Member of the Cedar Springs Area Chamber of Commerce. Also, member of Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce. Through IMA I am a Campus Influencer, which means I present to college students the benefits of being a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and the career opportunities that come with it. I’m also the Fundraising / Community Outreach Coordinator for Rock City BMX, a 501c3 that promotes an inclusive community and exercise through BMX.
What are your superpowers – something you’re good at that others should know about?
I am an avid planner and like to keep a task on track. Able to look ahead for due dates and push the team to meet those due dates.
Accomplishment you’re proud of?
I started running 5k’s in 2016 after giving that up for quite a few years between school and having my two boys. Now I run/ workout on a regular basis and enjoy that time.
Tell us about your life outside of work (family/pets/sports/activities/interests/hobbies)
My husband and I have two boys that keep us busy in various activities. We enjoy travelling and running my boys to various sporting events. We also have two dogs.
What is your favorite part of working at the firm?
I enjoy consulting with clients seeking support regarding their financials and being able to provide a deeper level of understanding of their books.
