What is your area of specialty – how do you best help your clients?
I specialize in taxation and general business consulting for middle market businesses and their owners.
What are your top 5 strengths? What is your favorite strength?
• Relator
• Developer
• Harmony
• Deliberative
• Individualization
Relator is my favorite strength. This strength focuses on relationships that are genuine and that is important to me. When I meet with clients, I am just as interested in their feelings, goals, fears and dreams as I am with their finances and business activity.
How do you like to give back to the community?
I think it is important to give back to the community and have volunteered with various organizations over the years. Currently, I am serving on the following boards:
• Grand Rapids Civic Theatre – Treasurer
• Arbor Circle – Treasurer
What are your superpowers – something you’re good at that others should know about?
Dad jokes and spreadsheets. I would say I excel at both.
Tell us about your life outside of work (family/pets/sports/activities/interests/hobbies)
Outside of work, I enjoy live entertainment (concerts, theatre, symphony, etc.), tennis, downhill skiing, and kayaking. My guilty pleasure is traveling to the Drum Corp International (DCI) competition each year to watch the most incredible group of musicians combine high powered music, marching, and theatre into one event.
What is your favorite part of working at the firm?
My favorite part of working at the firm is the talent we have here. Every employee at every level plays a role in our success and each has their own unique skillset. When you have a team of people that can do just about anything, it makes it very easy to come to work and enjoy what you’re doing.
