What are your top 5 strengths? What is your favorite strength?
1. Strategic
2. Achiever
3. Relator
4. Context
5. Responsibility
Strategic is my favorite as I love problem solving and puzzles. This translates well as each client is its own unique puzzle with its individualized challenges allowing custom tailored strategic solutions for their needs.
How do you like to give back to the community?
Volunteer YMCA Sports Coach, Kentwood Red Storm Robotics Mentor and Team Leader
What are your superpowers – something you’re good at that others should know about?
Problem solving – I love challenges both big and small. Taking the small details and piecing together the big picture or looking at the big picture and breaking it down to its smaller components.
Accomplishment you’re proud of?
Obtaining my Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Grand Valley State University as a non-traditional student while working full-time and a present husband to support my wife and 3 small children at the time. Much of this accomplishment wouldn’t have been possible without my wife’s support and dedication to my goal.
Tell us about your life outside of work (family/pets/sports/activities/interests/hobbies)
Married to Claire Posthumus, have 3 children (2 boys Bryce and Christian, daughter Scarlett) and take care of 4 rescue pets (1 dog and 3 cats). The majority of my time is spent watching, coaching and supporting my kids in sports, robotics and various activities where I get to watch them learn, grow and build relationships with their peers. Outside of that I love to golf when I get the chance, technology, movies, Nascar and traveling to/learning about historic locations.
What is your favorite part of working at the firm?
Working with a passionate team focused on the needs of the client while being encouraged to maintain a healthy work/life balance. I have also been blessed to work with some amazing business owners and value the relationships that have grown from it.
